Join fellow Bike Cleveland members and volunteers on Tuesday, August 4th as we get together for an evening filled with Random Acts of Brightness.
The evening of Tuesday, August 4th we will equip volunteers and members with bike lights to be taken out in the community and given away to cyclists who do not have them, improving their safety and making bikes in our city more visible.
Volunteers are needed for the evening starting at 7:30pm. Here's the breakdown of the evening:
7:30pm: Come to Bike Cleveland’s office for pizza, help get the lights ready for rapid installation (i.e. putting in the batteries and a quick lesson on proper installation), and learn what to say when you find a cyclists who is riding without lights.
8:30pm: We will divide up the light sets and ride out in groups of 2-4 to different parts of the city in search of people to intercept cyclists with our "Random Acts of Brightness" by installing the lights on unlit bikes and talking to the cyclist about Bike Cleveland and bike safety.
10:30pm (or earlier if you are done): We will wrap up the night at Nano Brew in Ohio City for some socializing and to talk about how the distribution went.
Volunteers will be acting as Bike Cleveland ambassadors as they install lights on the bikes of unlit cyclists. To do this we will equip you with the lights and literature needed to spread the Bike Cleveland love as you light the way for fellow cyclists.
Registration is required so we know how many volunteers to prepare for.
